Technology turns audience of 88 into “millions”

18th Aug - Companies not using modern technological platforms to market their businesses were given another warning this week, as social giant Facebook announced it would screen an FA Cup tie live to viewers across the globe.

The BBC reported that Ascot United, which is used to around 80 supporters for a home game, could be in front of “millions” for the Facebook broadcast.

Dave Evans, commercial director at accessplanit, added: “This gives you an idea of the clout that Facebook has, it can transform marketing from small to huge in a matter of minutes. But this is not just about Facebook, new software is available to boost business marketing today, and the sooner companies realise its power, the better.”

The game will be streamed live on the FA Cup sponsor Budweiser Facebook page, and only available to over-18’s.
